If bail is in place for specific crime, ie ABH, can the police extend the bail time because of a further allegation without notifying the person what the allegation is?

Can you explain your situation a little more?

A father pushed his 14year old son, who fell resulting in a minor injury (small cut/grazing). Father was arrest for ABH section47 . Son made video taped recording Suggesting he is suffering physical abuse, but has withdrawn most of his disclosure. Six week bail was set and served but now bail extended until the 20th of September because of a further allegation that is being investigated and the father does not know what the allegation is or has made it and at present is not allowed contact with his family.

In that case they can do that. That happens all the time. Probably the child has made some other allegation or another child or the mother has been roped in to beef up the existing allegation. That is quite common especially if this is a sham to disrupt contact.

They do not normally disclose the details of the allegation otherwise than upon arrest because some defendants would use the time to commit offences contrary to public justice.

It doesn't mean that it will come to anything.
