Customer Question

So i was involved in a very minor car accident because the Breaks on my 65 plate car failed to work. The car is currently being looked at but appears that the failure was caused by a fault with the break servo.
No one was injured but had the car in front of me not been there we (myself, Wife and two young Children) would have rolled out into the main road which would have been terrible.
Do i have any chance to claim compensation? I have been told by a few people that i should pursue this legally?

For what specific loss?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
There has been no loss, just the responsibility for selling a car with what could have been a deadly mechanical failure.

I'm afraid you cannot claim compensation for the creation of risk in the UK.

Compensation is only awarded for actual quanitifiable loss in the UK and actually in most jurisdictions based upon the Anglo Saxon system.

Unless there is loss, there is no claim.

Can I clarify anything for you?
