Can the executors of a will sign and distribute cheques of

Customer Question

Can the executors of a will sign and distribute cheques of the estate once it is all collected in if one of the beneficiaries do not agree with the ins and outs of the expenditure. Also if one of the assets has been taken by another beneficiary which is deemed as being worth over £500 but has not been valued.

Yes they can. If the beneficiaries disagree with anything they would have to go to court. They have no other remedy. Rarely is that financially viable. Happy to discuss further but proceedings are only worthwhile if the executors are thousands, even tens of thousands out. For hundreds you would pay out more in legal fees.
