Can a uk adopter who has rescued a Cyprus rescue dog from a rescue in Cyprus have the dog euthanized because it messes in the house? If an other home is waiting for this dog in the UK arranged by the Cyprus rescue?

What does your contract say about this?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'm asking for my rescue friend in Cyprus. I don't know about the contract

The reality is that they almost certainly can.

However much our dogs mean to us, they are property like any other. When a dog is adopted they become the property of the new owner.

An owner can euthanise a dog for any reason they like as long as it is done humanely.

Sometimes rescues do purport to prevent that in their adoption contract. Quite frankly, that is a double edged sword for lots of reasons. The reality is that it is not enforceable anyway though because it could only be enforced after destruction and then what is the point?

Sorry but I have to give you truthful information.

Can I clarify anything for you?
