Customer Question

I have almost completed a history book. It is low-level stuff, aimed at foreign tourists and gives a summary of UK history but with added details such as where, and how to get there and so on. Inevitably, there is some factual material from earlier historians. Typically, it's case of writing "In his book XXXXX Professor Bloggs says/opines/reports it happened here and then and for this reason" Do I need permission to make these references, or is mentioning them in a bibliography enough?
