my son aged 17 has been charged with ,use of a motor vehicle on a public road / public place without 3rd. party insurance. He has fully comp. insurance but had just started delivering pizza's part time and was unaware he needed business insurance. as this offence is a 6 penalty point offence being a young driver he will lose his licence. have you any advice that could avoid this ?

When did he pass his test?

I'm sorry. I lost my connection. You can get a refund for the phone call.

If the facts are as you say then he will get six points I'm afraid.

If he gets six points then he will be revoked as he is within the new driver's scheme. I had been hoping it was just a provisional but not so.

There is no exceptional hardship test.

It is not like a ban where he could argue exceptional hardship.

the only good thing is that if he takes his test and passes immediately then he will be back on the road.

Can I clarify anything for you?
