A small piece of land opposite my house doesn't legally belong to anyone, now National Grid want to put a gas regulator on it. How do I register it as my land quickly to prevent this happening?

The land may not be registered and the owner may not be known but it does belong to someone. Are you sure it doesn’t belong to the National Grid

Have you occupied the land and treated it as your own for more than 20 years?

If not, have the locals use the land for anything?
