I purchased a £200,000 new motorhome last year. Since the day of collection it has broken down at least 47 times and been back in workshops for over six months of the period. We have frequently been stranded in various locations around Europe. The vehicle is currently sitting again broken down on my driveway where it has been for the past three weeks with no action. I have now told the dealer that we reject the vehicle and want it replaced with a like for like new one. They firstly refused to entertain this but now will only replace it if we pay £15,000!
What can I do legally to bring this to a head

As the vehicle has broken down so often and they have been unable to fix it, you are entitled to reject it. You should not have to pay £15,000 for anything; the seller is in breach of contract to a material degree. The vehicle is unsatisfactory. Give them 7 days to uplift the vehicle and refund your money. If they refuse, see you solicitor with a view to raising court proceedings. You have been more than patient. 47 breakdowns and 6 months in the garage is farcical. You should have no difficulty in succeeding with a case. I hope that helps. Please leave a positive rating so that I am credited for my time.
