great thanks

No problem at all.

Thanks for your patience. The starting point is that if the debts were incurred in the UK and the debtors go to the UK courts to pursue them and obtain a court judgment against you, the this judgment can only be enforced in the UK. If they wanted to pursue you in another country for these debts then they would have to try and transfer the judgment to the local courts and then use that to enforce it in that country. This happens quite rarely and usually only for large debts where it is worth doing all of this for. £8000 is not really that much in the grand scheme of things so I would not expect them to go that far to pursue these debts. Of course there is no guarantee but I am just talking from experience.

Saying that there are debt collection agencies which work internationally and there have been cases of debtors being pursued abroad as well so that is certainly a possibility, but again no one can predict if they will go that far in the circumstances.

They can however continue pursuing this in the UK and if you have any assets left here then these can be affected. Also your credit rating can suffer quite badly if you have unpaid debts or a county court judgment which you have not satisfied.
