Last year I hired a horse trailer for three months. The contract ended in August 2015. Since then I have been trying to contact the owner by email/telephone (the only contact details I have) to take the trailer away.I have contacted the trailer makers, ifor Williams, and it has not been reported as stolen.I have sent an email to the owners saying if they do not move their trailer within thirty days it will be destroyed. 30 days have passed and no response.I am not sure how you destroy a horse trailer without proof of ownership. If I take it to the scrapyard they need ownership papers. Do I now own the trailer?

Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.
What papers do you need please?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
All IFor trailers have a number which is registered to the owners of the trailer. There is a certificate. As the trailer is in good condition the scrap yard want to see those papers which prove I own it. They think it is odd to want to destroy a trailer worth at least £3000.

What you need to do is get a Court declaration as to ownership.

You need to complete form N208:

The Court will list the matter and make the declaration where necessary.

Once you have the declaration you have title then you can sell/scrap it

Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?

Ok thanks. How much does the court application cost?

Does that clarify?
