Customer Question

My question is more about Landlord/Tenant relationship. If a Tennant has been residing in a house for 7 years or so on a rolling 6 month contract. He/She finds somewhere else to live and wants to move out. Their agreement states that they need give one months notice prior to leaving. They inform the landlord a week before the six months is up....... Can the landlord tell them that they need to be out in a week (ie at the end of the 6 month period), or as the contract says they have to give a months notice is it still a month even though it will take them beyond the end of the 6 months?
