our new neighbour of 2 months says our back fence is one foot into his land. His wants us to move the entire fence back into our land by one foot. otherwise he says he will do it. how do we know this to be true? The fence has been up for many years before we owned the property. we have owned the property for 4 years.

First you need to check the title deeds. if the boundary is not clear then you need a boundary surveyor to determine the correct boundary line.
