Customer Question

I am a company secretary, my husband who I am divorcing is the director. He has said up a bank account without me as a signatory. Is this legal, what can I do about this.
Thanks in advance.

Are you absolutely certain that your husband has done this? The reason I ask is that actually putting someone on the mandate as a signatory is not easy and requires passport or driving licence and proof of residence before the bank will add someone.

However even if you are a signatory, it doesn’t give you any liability and you also don’t have to sign anything so I’m not certain what the problem is.

If you can tell you what your concern is, I can expand my answer for you.

Can I clarify anything else for you?
