My 94year old Mother passed away on 1st August this year, my

Customer Question

Hello, my 94year old Mother passed away on 1st August this year, my sister arranged every thing for the funeral and would not give me information until I called her and asked, she was very evasive about it all. My Mother wanted to have the service at St Michaels Catholic Church in Coalway Road Wolverhampton (being Italian and Catholic). When I questioned my sister about funeral plans she said "I'm dealing with it 'she's' going to Lower Gornal Crematorian, no flowers from anyone just "her" spray of "family" flowers are going on the top of the coffin. I asked about "hymns" she said "there's no hymns it's just going to be music because we don't want it morbid!" She then came out with "By the way all my family will be sitting on the right!" to that I answered "so have my family got to sit on the left?" she said "Yes! and there won't be a wake as I don't believe in it, you can do what you like" Since the funeral I called my sister to ask about where her ashes were going to go, also a copy of the death certificate and also a copy of her Will, the response to that was "I haven't decided what to do with the ashes yet it will be a long long time before I do" the Will "she's left everthing to me" she didn't mention the death certificate. I moved back to Wolverhampton to look after my mother and I was her carer for 8 years in which I did everything for her, I feel very upset and also annoyed because it's MY Mother too, We did many things together for the past 40 years, she stayed at my house in Shropshire many times, helped with my 3 children when they were growing up they are now 41 and the Twins are 34. We also went on holidays abroad each year with my Dad too, who spent every Christmas (her Birthday!) and New Year with us every year since 1980. My children and my Grandchildren are devastated not knowing anything what can my family do about it? I am a pensioner 65 years of age on state pension. My sister is 71. I don't deem this as very fair can you please advise me. Many thanks Rosanna Waring 01902 761342
