Hi Jamie. Can I clarify whether I have any recourse should the client's solicitor continue to contact me at weekends and in the evening once I have asked him to limit contact to normal office hours?

Thanks for asking for me.

In terms of money no, but it may be that you could complain to the SRA if it's outside hours. That would generally only apply to telephone calls, rather than letters and emails.

You could open these as and when you saw fit,

I hope that helps.

Fair enough. I can see that. So even if I've asked him not to do so, it wouldn't really be something I could make a complaint about? It wasn't about money, more my privacy not being invaded via a private email address at inappropriate times.

You can chose whether or not to open the email. It would be calls that would be an issue.
