Following on from the #metoo campaign, i would like to set

This answer was rated:

following on from the #metoo campaign, i would like to set up an online platform for people to share their stories of harassment anonymously and without naming the abusers. I work in education and the problem of harassment seems to be prevalent.
I feel we need to address just how bad it is by showing our teachers' associations the scale of the issue so that they can address it by putting in correct polices to deal with it. A lot of teachers are afraid to tell their stories to anyone but if it's anonymous it's easier. This platform would be very similar to the recent Timesup platform set up in the States by the celebrities.Would i be breaking any laws/do I need to be careful with what I do and is it legal?

Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.

Just to be clear, people who are being harassed and the abusers would not be named?

That’s right

Ok - then this is fine.

What you can't have is people being named without fair process. Look in the papers, it is trial by media. People are innocent until proven otherwise.

So as long as people are not named, or identified then you are fine.

It is legal. Otherwise, if you do name, it could be a breach of Data Protection and maybe also lead to harassment of individual named.

But keep it anonymous so no one can be identified and you are ok.

Can I clarify anything for you about this today, please?

If not, I would appreciate a 5-star rating for my answer. If you need anything further I am available for a follow up at no extra cost.

It will be a platform that will offer support and advice etc like where people can go for help, what people can do to identify abuse.
Do you know of any organizations that offer free advice to victims of harassment?

Sadly I don't. I can tell you the law, but I am not up with organisations that can offer assistance.

Having a quick search online I found:

Does that assist?
