Was wondering about an old county court judgement. Lost a case I prosecuted privately about 8 years and a costs order was made in the defendant's favor but they've never been in touch with me about paying it since then
JA: Where are you? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: England
JA: What steps have you taken so far?
Customer: None, I've never heard from them again
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: Can't think of anything. Just wondering if it can be sprang out of the blue on me

There is no expiry date for such orders from the county court.

However, if you are not approached to pay, you do not have to pay as the defendant may have forgotten about it or is not bothered or does not wish to claim the money for whatever reason.
