Hi, thank you for your message. Can I confirm is she looking to move out?

at some point yes
Hi, thank you for your message. I would recommend the following:
1) write the mother a formal letter setting out her claim and what she wants from her.
2) She can make a complaint to the local council who will investigate the matter and find a solution. They may also order the landlord to make repairs. She can find her local council here:https://www.gov.uk/find-local-council
3) make a complaint to the housing ombudsman who will try to make things right between the parties. She can find out more about how to complain here: https://www.housing-ombudsman.org.uk/residents/understand-complaints-process/
4) if she plans to move her local council may be able to help her find accomodation. She should contact her local council by using the link provided above under point 2.
5)she can use one of the following benefits calculators to determine what benefits she can get here if she needs financial help:
1) https://benefits-calculator.turn2us.org.uk/AboutYou (Turn2us)
2) https://www.entitledto.co.uk/?e2dwp=y (Entitledto)
3) https://www.betteroffcalculator.co.uk/#/free (Policy in practice)
