I would like to know if a shareholder of a private company

This answer was rated:

I would like to know if a shareholder of a private company can attend the AGM with a solicitor? Can a proxy and the shareholder on whose behalf the proxy was appointed attend a meeting together?
Assistant: Where are you? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: UK
Assistant: What steps have you taken so far?
Customer: None. I’ve reviewed the constitutional docs of the company but I would like to know what the law requires in such a situation.
Assistant: Anything else you want the Lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: No that’s all

No, either the shareholder or the proxy is entitled to attend and vote at the AGM, if the shareholder is attending, he cannot appoint a proxy.

May I help further?

Thank you very much for your response. So am I correct in stating that attending an AGM with a lawyer is a request which can be declined.

Yes, that is correct.
