Can you tell me why a name doesn’t appear on court listings

Customer Question

Hi can you tell me why a name doesn’t appear on court listings despite the person being in court??
Assistant: Where are you? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: Glasgow
Assistant: What steps have you taken so far?
Customer: just the online gov uk website
Assistant: Anything else you want the Lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: That’s fine

Thanks for your question. There is no legal obligation on the courts service to publish names of persons due to appear in court. It is a service of convenience. It is often incomplete or inaccurate because of the general day to day timetabling and I formation issues faced by the service. I hope that helps. Please leave a positive rating so that I am credited by JustAnswer for helping you today.

if my name doesn’t appear on it it does not mean I wasn’t in court??

Not necessarily, no. You should always check at the clerk’s office if you are expecting to appear and can’t see your name.
