I have a response from my solicitor about a potential claim

This answer was rated:

I have a response from my solicitor about a potential claim which I do not accept as accurate.
JA: Where are you? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: As part of the process the solicitor points out that I can take legal action or report them to the law society. Which is best or can you do both. We are Hampshire based.
JA: What steps have you taken so far?
Customer: Put my argument /claim in a claim letter which they have rejected
JA: Anything else you want the Lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: We are a charity & the sum is relatively small £16k

Hello,

Please could you kindly clarify. Is this a potential claim against the charity?

Customer: replied 3 days ago.
It's the charity's claim against the solicitor. His delays cost us the balance of a grant

Thank you for clarifying. You say you do not accept that the claim is accurate. Please could you elaborate?

Customer: replied 3 days ago.
Our claim is accurate - his response is not

OK, so it appears from the information above that the best way forward would be to take legal action.

Despite the inaccuracies of his response, the matter appears to be disputes which must be dealt with by a Court.

better than seeking mediation from professional body?

It is unlikely that the regulatory body will take any action for such matters unless the solicitor acted grossly.

A civil claim would be the correct procedure to follow against the solicitor.

Thanks. I'll discuss with our trustees

It's a pleasure.
