Ask a Law Question, Get an Answer ASAP!
Hello, this is Jim and I am a dual-qualified lawyer (UK and Republic of Ireland) and happy to help you today.
If your Husband petitions for divorce then he has to pay a petition fee of £550. If he does not use a solicitor then this is the only cost (apart from a consent order / clean break order if finances are agreed).
Are you asking if you need to share the £550 fee?
Sorry, I can’t take a call at the moment. As you have asked for a call I will opt out for another expert to assist you going forwards.
Hello, my name is Peter, I’ve been asked to look at this for you, thank you for your patience.
Please bear in mind as this is an email service and not live chat I may not respond immediately.
I'm happy to arrange the call with you, we can fix a time to speak in the morning - let me know when you are free.
Thanks Leanne - I'll be able to call this evening when you are back from work - around 6pm I think.
Thanks - and yes I have your number. Speak later. Peter

There is no fee for the application.
There is also an explanatory leaflet here which may assist:
You can possibly get a fee exemption if you are on low income/have low savings. You would need to fill out a fee exemption form (http://www.gov.uk/get-help-with-court-fees).
