How can we counter protect ourselves? However we do not own a property, we are only renting.

Hi,

Thank you for your query. How do you mean protect yourselves?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
If my sister in law is unable to pay, they can force us to pay.
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Protect in the sense by only paying up to x amount of money.

Or by adding a clause to the agreement.

Hi,

If you enter into a Guarantor agreement, this would mean that in the event that your sister in law was unable to pay, you would be come liable to pay.

This is the purpose of a Guarantor agreement.
