Customer Question

Hi, I received a single justice notification procedure and have until 30th October to reply. I’m a delivery driver for a supermarket and the speeding ticket was issued whilst working. What would be the best way forward. I’m going to plead guilty but not sure how to use any mitigating circumstances to my advantage
JA: Because traffic laws vary from place to place, can you tell me where this is?
Customer: This happened in London on the M4. Met police are the ones who issued the nip
JA: Do you need to appear in court?
Customer: No, they have given me the option to do it online
JA: Anything else you want the Lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: Not really

Okay. Thank you

Assuming the limit is 70mph then you would get:

71-90mph - 3 points and a fine

91-100mph - 6 points or disqualify between - 7-28 days

101mph+ - 6 points or disqualify 7-56 days.

You can give mitigation and the Court will take that into account. You also get 1/3rd off any sentence if you plead guilty.

Can I clarify anything for you about this today, please?

If you need anything further I am available for a follow up at no extra cost

Speed limit was 40mph and according to them I was doing 53mph

Not entirely sure what I could use best as mitigation, other than working as a delivery driver during lockdown which added pressure to the job. The incident happened on 5th May
