I'm extending my lease on my first floor flat.
The owner of the ground floor flat has the freehold.
She says that she may sell her flat and move in a year or so.
She then says she'll offer the freehold to me or the new buyer. Or possibly half each.
My question is can I buy a freehold so soon after extending my lease with her.
JA: What steps have you taken so far? Have you prepared or filed any paperwork?
Customer: Just getting a valuation done.
JA: Where is the flat located?
Customer: London
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.

Good afternoon

I presume you have owned your flat for more than 2 years, hence why you are able to extend the lease.

You are able to freehold if it is offered to you, it does not matter when the lease extension took place.

Kind regards
