There is no legal obligation for you to provide your email addresses to the organisation, but they can have that requirement as part of their terms or policies. In the end, you have to remember that they are a private organisation which can set its own rules and procedures. The participants are expected to adhere to those, or they simply won’t be allowed to participate. You have no legal right to receive their services and they can refuse to provide these if you do not agree with their rules, including the request to have your email address. If you do not agree with these rules, then you have to find an organisation which does not have that requirement and the rules of which you are happy to accept.
It is the same as our service – we can request that you submit your email address before we provide you with advice. We can refuse to provide you with any advice, unless you gives us your email address. This is our prerogative and so it is the club’s prerogative in your situation.
