I have a number of term credit card debts going back to 2004

I have a number of long term credit card debts going back to 2004 where I have been paying £1 pm and it has now become clear that they have no proof I actually took out the debt-(no copy of my signature on original application) what is my legal position?
JA: Where are you? It matters because laws vary by location.

JA: What steps have you taken so far?
Customer: i asked them if they had proof of my original application and they said it was too long ago
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: i don’t think so-is there any charge?

Well you can stop paying and they will need to try and bring legal action against you for the debt but if they cannot prove you took out the debt then they will not succeed. I trust this assists
