Customer Question

Hi I need to replace my key for my Mazda (it's literally disintegrating). It's a 2010 Mazda 6 Takuya estate and the key has 3 buttons on it. lock and unlock and one that I presume is for the internal sensors. I can only find similar looking ones where the third button is for unlocking the boot. If I get one of these will the basic lock/unlock function and cancel internal sensors work or will the circuitry be different?

My name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I noticed that your question had not received a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here.If you no longer need help post a simple reply to let me know.

Unfortunately, you need to obtain the correct key/remote for your model. If you try another one that is not made for your model it will not work in most all cases as I have seen several times before. You may have to obtain a new one from a dealer from your vehicles VIN number.

If more help is needed, use the reply tab to continue our conversation. If no further assistance is needed, kindly rate my service, your 5-star rating is appreciated ( should be a link to click on here or above). You can rate at any time and we can continue to work on your question as this will not close out your question.I work on delivering the best answer and help here but in some cases, it can be difficult to do without seeing the vehicle.

Thanks Pete
