How old are you?
Do you have any other symptoms? Thank you.

My periods are regular but they can be heavy and painful. I am 24 years old, I also have abdominal cramping with diarrhoea.

If your periods were irregular, the swollen stomach might be from hormonal changes. Since your periods are regular, that suggests normal hormones, and with the diarrhoea I think your swollen stomach is from some intestinal problem. That could be a type of food poisoning, or could be from a virus. If this has been going on for some time, then you may have a type of colitis, or inflammatory bowel disease. Food poisoning and viral problems usually will resolve on their own, so if this is a recent problem, you may be able to manage it using imodium, drinking lots of clear liquids, and resting. If it's been going on for some time or if you have blood in your stools, then I would see your doctor soon. Best wishes.
