Hello and welcome to Just Answer.

Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough hormones. It upsets many chemical reactions in the body. It has no symptoms in the early stages but over the long term it produces obesity, joint pain and heart disease.

Some of the symptoms include fatigue, weight gain, and sensitivity to cold. Others are constipation, dry skin, swelling in the neck, hair loss, muscle and joint aches, depression and memory problems.

Treatment is by replacement with a synthetic thyroid hormone. This is a prescription from your Dr. I hope this information is what you are looking for.
