Welcome to Justanswer

I am sorry to know of the difficult situation you are facing.

How is your oral intake?

Do you have fever or other symptoms like blood in stools?

Have you taken any medication for this?

Are you diagnosed with any other medical condition besides diabetes?

Have you been to a doctor?

Thank you for the additional information and for your patience :)

Its been 6 days since the diarrhea started. If your doctor after examining you gave only an electrolyte solution for the diarrhea then the most likely diagnosis in his point of view was viral gastroenteritis. For this type of diarrhea only oral electrolyte replacement is advised and the diarrhea usually settles in 5 to 7 days or at maximum 10 days.

However if there is fever with it, excessive vomiting, very low intake specially of fluids or there is blood in stools then a different line of management is adopted and even an admission may be advised.

You have mentioned an increase in urination which is an indicator that you are hydrating yourself well however that can also mean that the electrolytes intake is low. So it would be best to take more of the electrolyte solution than plain water that your doctor has prescribed (an electrolyte solution is also available over the counter).

And if the diarrhea both in frequency and in consistency does not improve by Monday, the best plan of action would be see your doctor for this.

Hope this was helpful :)
