Welcome to and thank you for your question.
I am going to assist you with your question.
I understand your concern, and worry related with missed period.

Well, as you had a history of Extreme emotional stress, this would be the most likely factor for delay in period.

Stress can interfere with the normal hormonal signals from your brain,
It can change your hormonal status, can block your ovulation and delay your period.

This could cause your periods to become irregular and you would have late period.

Also, Eliminating the stress usually will cause menstruation to resume.
As you didn't have sex, so i would not worry for pregnancy.

Other common causes for such delay in period are-
Increased exercise, Hormonal imbalance, Thyroid disorder, Eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia.
Also, chronic illness may cause such problem.

You should get engaged in aerobic exercise and stress-management techniques like deep breathing and yoga, It would be helpful.
Maintain a healthy social chat with your friends.
Keep yourself busy, in your hobbies.

Sometimes, such problem can come in women's life.
You need to have patience, and wait for 1-2 weeks.
Most likely you would get periods.
Else you can consult your doctor and get it evaluated after 2 weeks.

Good luck and take care.

Please let me know how I can be of further assistance.
