I'm really scared, it started off with heartburn last week which now has gone but now for the past 4 days I keep getting indigestion after eating and drinking I've had some gavison but it didn't work I'm jst worried it's something serious
Hi--can you describe more completely what's going on? Can you tell me what you mean by heartburn and indigestion and have you ever had this before?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
I has heartburn last week a couple of times but that went now it feels like I'm always burping like I've jst drank a fizzy drink so don't no if it indigestion or not it's only after u eat or drink
OK Katie. So besides the burping there's no real pain? How long does it last after you eat or drink?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
No no pain and about 5/6 times after then I'm fine till I eat again
Just one more question Katie--before this were you having some problem with heartburn or indigestion where you had to take some sort of antacid medication like Maalox, Gaviscon, or Zantac?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
No nothing
OK Katie. This really doesn't sound like anything too serious. I would suggest you visit a doctor for an evaluation but it sounds as though you have a case of gastritis and a better choice for treatment would be Zantac or Prilosec rather than Gaviscon. I think one of those medications, taken for a week, should clear this up. While those are over the counter and you can try one of them now, it still would be a good idea to check with a doctor even if they do relieve your symptoms here
