I was under sedation and I cannot remember coming home is that

I was under sedation and I cannot remember coming home is that normal

Hello, this is Dr Helen, a UK doctor.

This is very normal. Seizures themselves can cause some memory loss around the time they happen.

Also, some of the drugs used for sedation, especially one called midazolam, is known to cause some memory impairment. The drugs only affect your memory at the time they are used and don't have long term effects.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.

so why do I not remember coming home amy family said I made a phone call of which I cannot remember why if it wasent the sedation

The drugs will still have been in your system when you came home.

That's why you don't remember coming home.

What I meant was they shouldn't be affecting you now as they are no longer being given to you.
