Customer Question

I arrived from the US yesterday morning. By noon I had a major headache causing me to feel sick at my stomach and even confused. I began having shakes almost as if my blood sugar was off. I tried to eat but it made me feel sick at my stomach. I left the office and stayed in bed the entire day / night. The hot / cold body temperature continued through the night and just blow drying my hair has left me exhausted.

I am a US citizen in London for the next 9 days so seeing a dr will not be the easiest thing but if I should go, I will make it happen. Thoughts?

No vomiting. Nausea when I eat.
No diarrhea or loose stools.
I have minor cramps when I eat. I'm actually have a second period this month which is not normal. I'm "regular". I had a period Feb 1-4 but started again this morning.
No issues with blood pressure or diabetes.
I believe I had fever yesterday - I'm associating that with chills and hot/cold body temperature.

I'm a generally healthy and active 36 yr old. I weigh approx. 138lbs and I regularly do CrossFit training and maintain a balanced diet that is higher in protein and low carbs.

Is there anything else you need?

Dear customer,
Thank you for providing quick additional info.

The symptoms you are having can be due to flu. It is caused by viral infection.

The headache, chills, fatigue, hot / cold body temperature are most likely because of this infection.

Symptoms caused by a viral infection generally clears up on its own within 5-7 days with no complications.

Following will help you greatly:

-Take tab.sudafed(oral decongestant tablet).

-Keeping a humidifier running in your room.

-Use an over-the-counter salt-water spray (inhaled through the nose) five or six times. This will provide dramatic relief.

-For fever, chills & fatigue, take tab. Ibuprofen 400mg from the counter. It is available as OTC(over the counter) without prescription & will help you greatly. Also will provide relief from headache.

If still after this your symptoms persists(after 5days) or you feel great discomfort, then you need to go to ER as oral antibiotics may then need to be prescribed accordingly.

Hope this helped.

My goal is to provide you with excellent service – if you feel you have gotten anything less, please reply back, I am happy to address follow-up questions.

Thank you

Kind Regards,
Dr. Robert
