experienced severe pain in my right ear during flight journey, had cold and flu during that time. after two days, i was fine. after a month, i experienced facial paralysis of one side of face. visited neurologist doctor and he said it was bells palsy and asked me to take predisone and neurobion for a month. I have recovered from the paralysis now and doctor asked me to stop predisone and continue with neurobion for another 3 months. I feel the cause of my problem was due to some ear infection because i feel i have little cold in my throat and blocked nose for a long time.

What is the treatment for my condition ? Is there any complications as I am having headaches for last two days after I stopped the prednisone...
For how long did you have prednisone and at what dose?
Did you stop all of a sudden or did you taper off slowly from prednisone?
Please let me know.

Dr.David, thank you for the information.

What kind of virus infection affects the ear and causes facial paralysis ?

What should i do now ?
Which specialist doctor should i meet ?

many different types of viruses can cause facial paralysis and ear infections.

norovirus, cytomegalovirus, ebstein barr virus,

if your symptoms of facial paralysis has improved and your sinus and ear infection is better, then you don't need to see a specialist.

these are temporary infections. like a cold is a temporary viral infection.

just try to wash your hands as much as you can to keep from contracting viruses and infections.
