Customer Question

I have noticed slight sign of blood in my urine just over a week before my
Period is due. I am a 44 year old woman, no children.
Is this something I should consider having blood tests for.
It's only ever happened twice in the last two years and just randomly.

Are you sure you passed blood mixed in urine or it was blood from vagina?
Do you have pain in abdomen radiating to back?

I can only answer no to all your questions. I'm not entirely sure if
The blood is mixed in with my urine. It appears so. I have also noticed a slight dark discharge on my knickers through the day, but again only slight and only in the last few days. I do not see blood in urine throughout the day, more noticeable in morning.

Dear Customer, Thanks for providing additional information.

Well, if you are not having period at that time, it could have been due to a urinary tract infection.
But Kidney stones are usually very, very painful. Bladder infection would have caused pain in the low back as well.

It is possible that you have passed such blood from vagina, that is the reason you have slight dark discharge in your knickers throughout the day.
Most likely it was related with your period only, and not urinary infection.

No need to get panic, and I don't feel the need for blood tests.
Sometimes, it possible that one may have slight discharge before actual periods.
Good to hear, that blood was normal for last year.

Such dark discharge before period comes for the vagina’s protection to ensure that the egg that will be produced will be clean.
No need to get panic, It can happen sometimes in women's life.

I hope this helps.

Please let me know how I can be of further assistance.
