Itchy face. No rash or redness or dryness, just very itchy

Customer Question

Itchy face. No rash or redness or dryness, just very itchy mostly when I'm in bed.
Around the nose, upper lip and under my eyes, right into the corners.
Also frequently itchy in other areas, but face is worst.
Could there be a link with aches and pains in muscles everywhere (polymyalgia)

Hello. I'm Dr. Phil, licensed and practicing internist. Excellent service is my goal.

Thanks for this question

Yes there absolutely could be

In fact you might have polymyositis/dermatomyositis

Skin and muscle go together in these conditions

I would get a good autoimmune workup by your GP or a rheumatologist but I think you are on to something here
