I had a blood test a week ago,i have been told I need another one in six weeks but not have any meat for 48hrs before the test why?
Are you sure it is not a stool test?
They might not want a false positive.

However, that really should not be a problem

Is this a kidney test?

Not told this was a annual test

Have you had any renal dysfunction on previous tests

So what was the blood test a week ago?

blood test I have every year, and diabetes test

If there is an indication of renal dysfunction on the routine annual test, then some doctors will do a test not eating meat, since meat can distort the reading. Of course you can confirm this with your doctor or nurse, but that is the most likely reason.

They are repeating the same routine test, just not on meat.
