Hi--what exactly do you mean by dysfunctional breathing?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

the physio sais i was breathing too fast and gave me exercises. she says its ok now but i still feel that i cannot get enough air. have had all the big tests done and nothing wrong but i cant stop thinking about each breath

OK Jenny--are you seeing a psychiatrist about this?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

yes he has put me on imipramine and tryfluoperozine and I want another opinion on these drugs

OK--stick with me Jenny. What exactly was his diagnosis?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

he said i was showing signs of anxiety and depression which i agree with but its all coming from thinking about my breathing

OK--do you also get therapy sessions, especially ones that employ cognitive behavioral therapy? At the least were you given relaxation techniques?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

he has put me in a mother and baby unit but nothing they are doing is helping. I know about cbt etc but i have a physical symptom and cant get rid of obsession towards it. would you expect meds to have started working by now

Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 3 years ago.
Yes Jenny--by now if those medications were going to work they should have done so already. I personally would not have tried to use that specific combination for your problem. Instead I would have prescribed an SSRI like Zoloft and I would also have added Wellbutrin. I've had very good results with my patients with that combination so I suggest you ask your psychiatrist about them

are these ok to be used in pregnancy

Expert:  Dr. Chip replied 3 years ago.
Yes--at your stage but any medications you are on should be OK'd by your obstetrician
