Hello, I was diagnosed with endometriosis ten years ago and had a large chocolate cyst removed. Since then I have been on the combined pill and have had no problems at all. However, 7 months ago, I experienced a visual disturbance due to stress at work and the Dr recommended a swap from the combined pill to mini pill. This was not a success, it didn't control my cycle and after a month I had pain, bleeding and all the endo symptoms back, (especially in the right side where cyst was removed.) Went back to the Dr three times and they advised sticking with the minipill, hoping it would suppress my cycle, which it didn't. Finally, a month ago, the Dr agreed I could go back on the combined pill. Feel much better and already it has over-ridden my cycle. Worried however, than I still have some pain (not bad enough to take a pill) on the right side. I am concerned that during the six months I was on the mini pill I got another chocolate cyst and that now I am back on the combined pill it might get worse because of the oestrogen.
Hi When did you last have a pelvic ultrasound or ct scan?

OK--can you tell me a bit more about the pain you have now?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

It is not bad at all and I have had it for six months (intermittant) feels like mild cramping in the ovary that was partially removed 10 years ago. When I was on the mini pill it co incided with mid cycle to my period, but the combined pill has stopped my cycle

OK--and we can continue after this if you need. Even if the minipill didn't control your cycle that's no reason to assume that you've developed another cyst and since the pain is no so bad that's more indication that another cyst hasn't developed. I think you'll be fine now that you're on the combined pill but I would get an ultrasound just to check things out
