I have an infection in my fingernails and around the tip of my fingers. The doctor prescribed itraconazole. However in the past I have had a bad reaction to metramazole and was wondering if they are related.

If I take a quarter 1mg lorazepam with with itraconazole will this be ok?

I am Dr. Thomas, a double board certified doctor. I will give you an initial answer or ask you a question, but I am here for your follow up concerns. Use “reply to expert” as needed.

We can not tell you to add medications that your doctor did not prescribe.

These two drugs , however, are not listed as having interactions.

I think you mean metranidazole, which is not the same class of drug.

There is no drug called matramazole that is itraconazole.

my gp did prescribe lorazepam for when I fly but I am worried if I take a quarter of a 1mg lorazepam that it will not be safe with the Itraconazole.

I assumed that because Metranidazole has a similar ending in its name to Itraconazole that it might make me feel as ill is Metranidazole did.

There is no interaction with itraconazole It should be safe. No the metranidazole is not related. You are welcome anytime.
