Ive had a medical abortion 3 weeks ago, but Im still bleeding

This answer was rated:

I've had a medical abortion 3 weeks ago, but I'm still bleeding quite heavy and my pregnancy rest came back positive. My gp and the clinic I went to just keep telling me to wait and see if it clears. But if I pay privately, can I get this cleared quicker?
There is no way to "clear" it quicker.
In fact, I am not sure what they mean by that.

The real question is, is the bleeding becoming less and less, or not?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
No Its been the same for 2 weeks
and did you have an abortion with pills, or a surgical abortion?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
A tablet on the first visit and vaginal pessaries on the second visit.
This can go on up to 6 weeks.
But at 3 weeks it should be noticeable getting better.
If not, you need to ask why.
There is no way to specifically speed up the process.

On average, light bleeding can occur up to 3 weeks. Some women longer.
