I came back from Japan Saturday 5th july from the 6th and still today I am not sleeping well my chest feels tight left side from chest to stomach nagging pain not sure if this is still jet lag
Hello,
I am Dr ken and I will be helping you today.
It is already more than a week that you are back. I would not consider these symptoms due to jet lag.
Tightness at chest worries me a bit. I would like to rule out cardiac issue first. Associated symptoms like breathlessness, feeling tired, pain at shoulder would worry me more and prompt immediate medical evaluation. EKG would give us more answers.
Other possibility I would think is - Irritation of the stomach mucosa {may be due to excess acid secretion, stress} with reflux. Upper GI scopy/ chest x ray and ultrasound of abdomen would give us more answers.
As of now - TUMS, a glass of cold milk would give relief.
Next step - If there are symptoms like - breathlessness, feeling tired, pain at shoulder - I would go to ER now.
