we are waiting for a haematologist to visit Guernsey, appointment

This answer was rated:

we are waiting for a haematologist to visit Guernsey, appointment will be up to a six month wait, my husband has been diagnosed with THROMBOCYTOPENIA, is there anything we can do to help "cure" it, also what caused the condition?
This means low platelets.
If they are not very low, then it is not critical at this point.
No there is nothing you can do to cure it.
The cause is post often autoimmune but can also be from drug effects
or it can be a problem with the bone marrow
Or from an enlarged spleen.
Treatment depends on what the cause is determined to be.
If autoimmune, often a steroid can be used.
OK, so that is an initial answer….
