Heart beat

This answer was rated:

Hi I feel as though im getting an extra heart beat every few seconds, I feel it in my chest only.. When I check my pulse on my wrist I don't feel the extra beat.. Would this just be a muscle twitching in my chest?

Dr.Amita :

The best way to find out of you are having an extra beat would be to get an ECG done.Feeling pulse is not the perfect way to know if any rhythm disorder is present

Dr.Amita :

It would be advisable to get into an urgent care and get an ECG done for this so that the nature of extra heart beat can be known

Customer: U sure? I can see the twitch on my pectoral muscle when it happens
Dr.Amita :

Feeling of a twitching muscle and an extra heart beat are quite different.

Dr.Amita :

One can differentiate between them

Dr.Amita :

If you are feeling an extra heart beat you need to get it checked

Customer: IM going to ask another doc
Dr.Amita :

I will opt out
