Hi doctorWith the past few months I have stressed myself

Customer Question

Hi doctor
With the past few months I have stressed myself thinking all sorts ,small triggers adding to what I was thinking(for example I thought my partner was gay at one stage)....completely wrong but I was picking up on small things
which made me think a huge thing of it
In the past I have suffered from sleepless nights(waking up mid morning),stress
Etc worrying about this and that
Six weeks ago something sprung to my mind which I did when I was was nothing at all, quite silly like taking money from my grandmother, but at the time I worried about it!i hadn't thought about it with 20 years.all of a sudden with anxiety the situation spiralled out of control and I started thinking more and more adding legs and tails until eventually I had myself convinced I was mad!then I started thinking I had gone mad and as good as believing it.
This thinking continued onto other thinking and my mind starting worrying about other silly stuff similar to it-that I didn't do ......but the more negative thinking I did the more I had convinced myself I the start I laughed at the I am beginning to believe the thought....then another thought followed about another situation and so on...spiralling.
Can u tell me what's going on?am I going mad?is it anxiety that is making me think these thoughts which never crossed my mind before
