Hi, i've had progressive foot problems, on each foot over the last few months, I have some type of lumps and also, I get numbness, pins and needles, and pain in both feet, also at night they get very inflamed and swell. but can be ice cold as well.. I don't have diabetes as I know. I do suffer with Fibroymalgia, but I don't think its that this time... as there all new symptoms, and I don't think that would cause these lumps in my feet. Any Idea what it is, I've booked in to see a doctor in 1 weeks time, but just curious to what it it, as it is worrying me, as there painful as well, i'm 36 years and not over weight.... thanks

This is Dr. David

Dr. David :

are these lumps on your feet hard or soft or painful?

Dr. David :

you could be having ganglion cysts in your foot or synovial cysts

Dr. David :

or they could be bunions

Customer: Hi there hard and are painful and are indifferent areas of the feet
Dr. David :

sounds like bunions or cysts in your foot

Dr. David :

which could be pressing on nerves and causing pain in the feet

Dr. David :

you could be having poor circulation into your feet causing them to be cold.

Customer: If there ganglion cysts do they go away on there own, are they dangerous
Dr. David :

ganglion cysts are not dangerous

Dr. David :

they can be painful

Dr. David :

and they can be removed by surgery if needed.

Customer: Would cysts feel hard
Dr. David :

yes, some cyst can be very hard.

Customer: Amd would that explain the pins and needles and inflammation, also wen I shaved last on my legs the left hand side was a weird feeling while shaving, was like numb
Dr. David :

usually numbness in the lower leg is from pinched nerves around the knee or in the lower back

Dr. David :

an MRI scan of the lower back can check the nerves and spinal cord to check for pinched nerves in the lumbar or sacral spine.
