This is Dr. David
what do you mean you still have a part of it a week later?
do you still have that stye in your eye?
are you still having swelling in the lid?
it sounds like it is only getting better slowly, correct?
I still had small swelling in my eyelid
so that means it is slowly getting better
keep using the warm or hot towel compresses on the eye.
does that help?
do you have any pus coming out of the eye?
the hot compress don't help or make any difference
no I don't have pus
but I notice my eye lid is little red
and my eye is very dry
you can try over the counter moisturizing eye drops
and a humidifier at home to see if that helps.
in winter, the air can get much more dry and with the heater and furnace, this dries the air more.
eyelid a little red is ok, it will continue to get better .
most styes are caused by a viral infection of the eye.
and they can take time to get beter.
sometimes even a few weeks.
but it sounds like your swelling has gotten a bit better already in this week.
you can always go back and see your GP doctor to have them take a look at it
to make sure it is healing ok.
so i should not worry about it
no, you should not stress
try the moisturizing eye drops
and the humidifier
and see if a second week will help it get better
I bet it will
good luck to you
let me know if you have other questions.

what is the humidifier
that helps add more moisture in your air at home.
it is an electronic device you add water to which puts out steam in the air.
ahh i see
I have to see a patient.
I'll be right back.
no need thank you
sorry about that.
you are welcome
