I have a weird cold since almost 4 weeks now. It started with congested ears, on and off throughout the day but mostly in the morning. Now this developed into a cough, I basically have the feeling that mucus should come up, but it doesn't, so it's actually quite a dry cough. I don't have congested or running nose, jut feeling my ears (still) sometimes. I am generally feeling fine, but I am worried because this is not getting better and takes now several weeks. Also I want to continue with my running schedule and workout but am worried that this may not be a good idea with this weird cold.
. Any fever? And any problem with indigestion or heartburn?

no fever, or indigestion or heartburn

OK Patricia. Can you tell me more about the congested ears? And how often do you cough?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I cough quite often at the moment, since a few days. I think the ears might be getting better, but still feel them sometimes (as if they are congested).

I actually went to the doctor, but only a nurse was there (doctor was on outside duty). she looked into my ears and said they would look clear. rest, she basically played down the cold and suggested to drink a lot.

OK Patricia. First off, any cough that lasts as long as yours has warrants seeing a doctor exam and a chest x-ray. The reason I asked about indigestion is that sometimes this can be from a gastric acid reflux problem at night that can cause a chemical bronchitis. But even without a fever or a productive cough or feeling ill one still could have pneumonia. Another possibility would be a sinus infection with post nasal drip causing the cough. Finally it could be an allergy problem considering the congested ear feeling. I don't think, all in all, this is too serious but you need to have it checked out by the doctor himself

Ok, thank you. I will make another appointment then. Hopefully this clears soon. Thanks again.

My pleasure but do let me know how it goes Patricia
